Waited a while to try this spot. We pass it all the time going to my in-laws. My husband had a very last minute craving for hibachi. Arrived at restaurant at 8:30pm. (Hibachi Closes at 9:30pm) ****Please don't go right before closing like we did**** (it was a late work day for us) Just out of courtesy for staff. If you know, you know. Even when we did arrive at this hour, the staff were super friendly! Great customer service to everyone there! We had ordered the surf and turf. Okinawa Roll, the emperors feast, agé tofu and a Chicken kids meal. All delicious! No complaints. Meals came with miso soup and toss salad. With your choice of steamed rice or fried rice. Meals also came with stir fried veggies and noodle!!! Lots of food leftover to take home! Will be back again! HERES A IMPORTANT TIP****** HIBACH 101....... TIP YOUR HIBACHI CHEF!!! They put on a great show!
This is a great family, casual restaurant to enjoy Japanese cuisine. Our first time dining here since we were out on that side of the island. We were very pleased with the service, ambiance, and definitely the food & selection. I chose a sashimi (hamachi) and nigiri plate and loved everything! We also ended the meal with two scoops of green tea ice cream. I highly recommend this place. They also offer a teppan yaki section for dining and a bar.
Sakura Restaurant is a family friendly Japanese eatery conveniently located in the Mililani Shopping Center across from Safeway. Established in 2016, it features a variety of teppanyaki, sushi, and teishoku style cuisine. Yesterday, my friends and I decided to meet for a quick lunch at noon. Two of us chose the tender beef teriyaki with crispy shrimp and vegetable tempura teishoku lunch special while our other friend chose the chicken katsu and shrimp and vegetable tempura meal. All sets came with miso soup, salad, rice, and soy beans for $16-17. What a deal! With its ample free parking, friendly service, and reasonable prices, it's the perfect neighborhood gathering place in a comfortable, informal atmosphere! We will definitely be back for more! Sakura is such an amazing place to dine in you can either be seated on the teppanyaki side or restaurant side. However you are not limited to just ordering one or the other you can order what ever it is you want. Food here was amazing not to mention the atmosphere was great as well. The staff are very friendly and willing to help make decisions if you are stuck between anything. All in all an incredible place paired with great food and friendly staff. Not to mention their green tea ice cream is delicious as well. Don't knock it til you try it.
Tried the teishoku combo with vegetable tempura and chicken katsu. The food was fresh and tasted good, though the chicken katsu was on the thinner side. The price is reasonable, making it a pretty good deal overall. Service was good, and the experience was enjoyable. My friend had the sushi lunch and tried hamachi sushi and uni sushi. She said both were very good--fresh and flavorful. The prices were on the steeper side, but that's understandable for quality seafood. Overall, a solid spot for Japanese food in Mililani. Would come back to try more!
Ha! I wish I could post pics! But, when it's good, it's good! So no pics! This is like a neighborhood secret of good tasting japanese food! I love bringing my family here, and the ambiance e is entertaining for young and old alike!!! Especially if you go the hibachi live cooking in front of you!!! For the portions and prices and taste, this place hits all the points It'll always be a recommend from my POV! Great eats! Go get your sushi roll on!!!
We decided to come here for date night. Low lighting. You can select either: a table - where you order as normal OR the hibachi - where you order and they will cook it in front of you. Our server was a nice guy. Needed to speak up a little though with all the noise with the bar being so close, too. Sushi has a great ratio of meat to rice. I'd estimate 80% toppings and 20% rice!
We stopped here on our way to a hotel from the airport. Fortunately they were open until 10:00. The restaurant was very clean. They have nice booths or hibachi tables. I think they also have a sushi bar. Cheng was a wonderful server. Their portions were large and the food was good. I especially love their ginger salad dressing and the tempura vegetables. My steak teriyaki was prepared how I ordered. My husband got chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura. We upgraded to the fried rice but it had too much garlic and not much flavor. Good value and experience.
Walk-ins welcomed. Have always been seated quickly. I have only dined in for dinner so far. And have only tried sushi. Highly recommend *Kampachi carpaccio *Yellowtail specialty roll *Tiger roll Ahi tataki is decent Salmon skin hand roll - the salmon skin was crumbles? Unagi nigiri didn't have unagi sauce Volcano roll is deep fried if you're into it Unfortunately soda was flat but refillable Service is always on point! Tentative, appreciative and never rushing. Can get loud if your seated in the back near hibachi
Food=amazing. Service=amazing! Ambiance=amazing. Overall, such a great experience. Love coming here. Definitely recommend this restaurant for a date or just a night out with family. I have yet to try the tempentaki side. Looks like good fun on that side too. Entertainment during dinner.
